Introduction: Insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) has a role in cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and survival. By alternative splicing different IGF-I mRNA transcripts as IGF-IEc (mechano growth factor, MGF) or IGF-IEa variants are produced.
